Hello and
welcome! My name is Sara Howard, also known as Matrices. I am an artist,
tailor, illustrator, and crafter. The following is a portfolio of my work and examples
of my products that I make and sell. More examples and the most up-to-date place
to find all examples
of my work can be found at my Trello
Queue, I have 5-star rated customer service as seen in
my Etsy reviews. Additionally you can find additional selected examples of my work at my FurAffinity
Gallery
and Weasyl Gallery.
I offer a 3 month guarantee on my sewing. I invite potential customers to try on my merchandise, and I will do exchanges/returns on unworn items during the event if something does not fit.
These photos represent the past 3 events, which I had the absolute pleasure to sell at.

These balaclava hoods are designed to be lightweight, low profile, reinforced at each opening, and make wearing a costume cool and comfortable while keeping the wearer's hair and sweat out of their eyes. They can be worn two different ways, or even used to build a costume on top of. They are made of lycra or spandex and available in many solid colors or fun prints. I try to make as much variety as possible to make them different and fun from the usual things that the browsing audience might encounter. Machine washable. My best seller at furry conventions.
Oversized working fursuit-sized collars, with two inch working buckles and welded D-rings. Fully adjustable to fit a person or a large costume neck. Available in solid colors, fun prints, glittery or unique specialty fabrics, and prints chosen to match a convention's theming. I offer different varietys of collar colors and prints for each event, and often sell out of what I have made available by the end of events. The soft thick collar material is washable and can be ironed.
Vinyl stickers made of 5-year rated outdoor vinyl, available in assorted colors and many designs and species. New designs are released before events so this may not represent all designs available, as more are released throughout the year! Each sticker is home-made (designed, cut, and prepared) and not outsourced to a company.
Other kinds of waterproof stickers are also available, while size and shape may vary, these depict my artwork, fun expressions from popular sticker packs I made, or my website logo for those that enjoy supporting my website! These stickers are ordered from a supplier, they are dishwasher safe stickers suitable for anywhere!
I had "safe for work" dakimakura pillowcases manufactured featuring my own illustration/artwork. These are made in hong kong.
Tonal conbadges done custom on-site. Customer chooses their character, expression, and paper color. Glitter effects, fun patterned-paper backing, and clear plastic badge holder included. This style is also available in full color. Badges are also offered themed to match the event theme.
Full color conbadges done custom on-site (when electricity is available they are done same-day, when it is not, they are done next-day and laminated in my hotel room). Customer chooses their character, expression, name color(s), and the badges are cut out around the character. Glitter effects and lamination included. Badges are also offered themed to match the event theme.
In addition to traditional art, I take digital art commissions completed on-site for clients using an Android drawing tablet. (no electricity or computer setup needed! It is the same tablet I process my credit card payments on.) These are also offered once my traditional slots are taken for the day, as it is easier to offer and deliver these as a take-home item. I also do reference sheets, stickers and other artwork!
I also offer sketches, sketchbook illustrations, and colored pieces illustrated on-site. These are done under client direction and are custom.
To meet with my goals of helping other people learn to create, and to suppliment the over 80 fursuit building tutorials available free on my website, I also make available patterns and premium tutorials for sale that are of my design. These patterns are geared to people new to sewing, or want to get into making. They are sold with instructions, a full-size copy of the pattern, and are packaged in Matrices.net packaging.
All of my patterns come with an instructional booklet, they are also available for purchase in my etsy shop, but at events I make them available as a physical copy for those without printing or that prefer the included booklet. It is the packaged pattern with printed and bound booklet. I do all the printing and binding myself for these.
When available, I will also package some patterns with enough material big enough to practice and/or create the patterned project or provide the pieces pre-cut in a kit. An example of a Foam Ear kit for fursuit head building, with thourough instructions printed in a tutorial format for use.
Sewn items vary widely between events, I aim to have a few for each event I attend sometimes themed to the event theme or current tastes. Often sewn items are finished high quality luxury costume items or fun and silly props. Below are examples of the types of sewn items I often have available, or that I make available for commission for interested clients at events.
In addition to the above example items I also offer sewn supplies for buyers to enhance their own costume projects, shown below:
Fursuit Parts such as tongues and claws come in assorted colors, shapes, styles, and fabrics. Ready to install!
White and multi-colored nylon whiskers for costumes and projects, easy to install. Upcycled. Also a best seller, as a small low-cost item.
I offer straight-toothed combs for maintaining furusits and furry accessories. I offer the two sizes/styles shown above! These are a preferred alternative to slicker or pet brushes. These are aquired from a supplier.
