Important Information
(aka "the terms")
Copyright:
All
characters on this site and their likenesses © Sara Howard AKA Matrices, unless
otherwise stated. All images are © Sara Howard (except the Guest Art, which is
© the original artist), and may not be used without permission.
Fan/gift art:
If
you draw me a picture, I will love you! Just let me know by e-mailing me with the
picture attached. And if you post your drawing of one of my characters on your
site or art archive, please be sure to give proper credit. Please do not
use my characters/drawings for reference without permission or at the very
least a citation of the reference image with a link to the original image,
or to http://www.matrices.net ... Tracing, coloring in, and/or redrawing
images from my drawings or characters and calling it your own is inappropriate. Commission
Terms:
Commissions for
sewing or drawings will only be done if I agree to it. I have the right to
refuse for any reason at any time. If I refuse I will provide you a refund
for any payment received from you, unless it was designated as
non-refundable, and I will try to do this in a timely manor. Refunds will
not be offered, especially if I have completed the item. I will not draw
or sew anything vulgar or that I do not agree with. I prefer reference
images and text description. If text description is all that is available,
please be as specific as possible. Please also try to keep reference items
rated PG or lower, there's some things I prefer not to know about. :3
Shipping is charged on items that will be sent to you, unless specified
otherwise.
I will try to complete the commission
in a reasonable amount of time unless a deadline is requested (and agreed
upon by me). If an agreed-upon deadline has passed, upon request, I will
do a half-refund depending on how much work was done on the commission and
will send any half-completed items upon your request. If you change your mind about a commission (drawing or
sewn items) and have not paid within 30 days from the completion
date, or refuse to pay, I have the right to re-sell the original or the
sewn item to recoup any losses (you still retain any copyrights on the
character's likeness, though).
Minor changes at
the sketch stage are allowed, but I will not do more than 1 free
"re-do" (a significant change, like head, body, or pose) at the
time of the sketch. "Re-dos" will not be allowed after inking
has started unless you intend on commissioning another image. Any other
re-dos or changes will not be free. I will go by the character description
you provide, so please be as thorough as possible and fully explain what
you desire before the inking stage of the commission has begun. Buying
art:
If you
are interested in buying or commissioning me for a picture of your character, or
one
of my existing originals, contact
me then we'll talk about it. I have a pricing page
available, its best to contact me for a quote and to get an idea of what I can do. If you'd like one of my existing
originals:
It all depends on the condition of the picture, how much I like it, the size of the
picture, the medium, and if I can find it or not. If you'd like a commission of your
character: It depends on how many characters are in the picture, how complex you
want the picture to be drawn, the medium(s), and the size of the picture. I will only send you the original
after I have confirmed payment. Sewing commissions:
If the commission is a sewing commission, for a tail or a costume item, I do it
like this: You request the item, I give an estimate, you confirm, and then I make
it. When I'm finished, I get back to with a picture and a final price (and
shipping cost). Then you mail/paypal me payment, when payment is received, I mail
you your item! If I have to purchase materials for the commission (i.e. I
don't have the fur/fabric already in-stock or readily available) I may ask
for a non-refundable down payment, remaining payment is expected
after completion of the item. Please note: I have the right to
re-sell/auction off the tail if payment is not received after 30 days from
my e-mail notifying the buyer at time of completion. "Re-do's"
are not free, if the commission is not fully explained before the
commission is begun, you have a right to request a minor change, but not a
re-do, unless you intend on paying for a second commission. I also have
the right to refuse commissions! If you don't agree with these terms,
please commission another individual. Trades:
If
you're short on money, I am usually willing to trade my art/sewing for things.
Items I will trade for range, contact me to inquire. I prefer "real
media" art trades to "digital" art trades, and I won't
charge for shipping if you don't charge me for it. I am willing to trade
my sewn items for art items. I have the right to refuse trades.
Final Product, mailing/scans/pictures:
I won't mail out anything out before payment is received, and I'm not
obligated to send you high DPI scans of the drawings before payment is received
(because there is risk of
deadbeat buyers who commission, receive the final scan, then drop out of
sight, never paying for the original). I will send small DPI scans for
review purposes only. I am willing to take progress photos as I create the
sewing commission to keep you updated upon your request (but this request
is not guaranteed, I will only do them if time allows), but if it is not
requested I will only send a photo of the final product, I will take
photos of the final product from other angles upon request, too. This
page/terms are subject to change without notice!
