Cathlamet

Cathlamet is a cute wolf who was finished September 2008. She has digitigrade legs, and a foam-based head. I really love how she turned out.

About the character

Cathlamet was named after the ferry, M/V Cathlamet, which sails between Mukilteo and Clinton (off the South end of Whidbey Island, which is the island I live on, in Washington state). Cathlamet is part of a group of costumes that my friends and I and I have been working on, based off of Pacific NW animals and named after Northwestern Washington ferries.

About the costume

Cathlamet's head is made out of  1/2 inch foam and has a static jaw. The handpaws and digitigrade bodysuit is all machine sewn, the legs are padded with individually shaped pillows. Her eyes are made with plastic bowls and buckram fabric. There are also plastic whiskers above her eyes and mouth.

The tail is stuffed and attached to the bodysuit, at the end it has a small squeaker. The bottoms of the feet are duck cloth with shaved down fur, the paw pad takes up the whole bottom of the foot just like a wolf's foot.
