I started construction similarly to my Matrices
mask. Taking strips of plastic canvas and sewing them
together. |
 |
As you can see the jaw has balsa wood for my chin to press
down on and is hinged (with brads and rubber bands) so it can move as I speak. |
 |
This mask has large areas around the eyes, so it will be
easy to see out of. |
 |
Here's the mask after I've added the foam to build up its
shape. |
 |
The ears have a wire armature inside each of them, so they
are very poseable. |
 |
Here is another angle of the mask before I began to add
fur. |
 |
When I started to add fur, I added the white fur first.
Using two lengths of white I achieved a rather cool 'cheek ruff.'
I also added details to the inside of the mouth using "Foamies" |
 |
Here's a great view of the nose. I used black vinyl, and
folded it underneath the foam, hot gluing it in place. |
 |
Finally here's a view of the finished mask, You can see I
put in (removable) screen eyes. The screen is spray-painted white
on one side with the black pupils and yellow irises painted in. |
 |
Other small details were added, such as the vinyl eyelids,
which are a nice touch to the finished mask. |
